Description
The CD4017 is a 5-stage divide-by-10 Johnson counter with 10 decoded outputs and a carryout bit. The CD4017 layout allows for medium-speed operation and assures a hazard-free counting sequence. The IC CD4017 is utilized in counting applications and has the capacity to switch on 10 outputs sequentially in a pre-defined time, as well as reset or hold the count as necessary. It also includes the option to use a Carry pin to show the status of counting. This IC is frequently used in Led chasers and other logical output projects, so if you need a sequential decoded counting IC that can count up to ten, this is the one to choose.
